I've recently ordered my new 5 and was wondering how to play my SD card full of my mp3 music files. My present car, VW Polo, has an SD card slot that recognises the music files and I can play them through the built in media player. Does the new 5 have the same capability? I did ask the dealer when making my order but I'm not sure she knew what an mp3 file was. I don't subscribe to any streaming services or online storage so hopefully there is some way I can play my music.

I could be completely wrong, but I don’t believe the R5 has an SD card slot for music.

I’ve found the e-guide here relating to audio sources that are available:

You might have to either transfer them to a USB stick which the audio system can play mp3 files from, or get a USB stick that can accept an SD Card.

That would need more research though.

Thanks for that, I did notice a couple of USB-C ports, perhaps I'll just need to buy USB-C flash drive and transfer them like you suggest.

It plays mp3 files on usb-c stick very well. I have mine saved as album folders, but you can choose to play albums or individual tracks.

Good to know, thank you. Do you get album art, album name, artist etc. displayed on the screens?
